Pug Mills
Pug Mills are used for continuous mixing fertilizers, clays, heavy chemicals, foods, animal feeds, power plant waste, or pugging a wide range of materials from medium to heavy viscosity. Dry materials are also mixed or reacted with vehicles or binders. The construction materials (troughs and blades) in contact with the material being mixed can be stainless steel, common metals, hastelloy, inconel or nickel. The troughs are double "U" section with centre saddle. These can also be abrasion resistant steel lined, and/or jacketed for heating or cooling medium circulation. They accommodate two parallel shafts fitted with overlapping type blades for fast, thorough, progressive processing. Pug mills are normally driven through one motor with spur gearing. They are available with belt, chain or direct driven configurations. Both shafts are equipped with stuffing boxes on the charging end. The discharging end may be equipped with shaft seals or stuffing boxes, depending on location of mixer outlet. Power inputs are available from 10 H.P onwards. The product discharge may be over a regulated weir, from the bottom of the trough, side of the trough, or over an angled chute. Apart from standard sizes, we also offer custom-build pug mills with covers in various lengths and widths to suit your process requirements. Pug mill units are available in single or double shaft units for specified applications. The units are available with adjustable pitched blades or bolted fin type.
Paddle Mixer We engineer paddle mixer, which is a horizontal mixing, conditioning and agglomerating device. Its design is based on a horizontal U-type trough with dual shafts and paddles extending the length of the trough. The action of the pitched paddles moves the material up from the bottom of the mixer (between the shafts) and back down the sides. Agglomeration is achieved by the tumbling, mixing and wetting action of the liquid binder. These paddle mixers are used for processing and disposal of hard to handle material.
